One of the features that sets this museum apart from others is our unique Prisoner of War display. German POWs were housed at Camp Atlanta (five miles southwest of Holdrege) during World War II. These prisoners told stories of their exceptional treatment and lifelong friendships that developed through the adversity of war.
The POW guard tower is a replica of the tower that stood at Camp Atlanta. Other out buildings on the property include a Lutheran Church, windmill, one room school house, and the Sam Anderson farm house.
