Excitement - November 1944. Shopping at a local department store
to
buy stage curtains and costume parts for a camp show. Unflinching sales
clerks seem to mistake prisoners for GI actors in German uniforms,
or
maybe Allied soldiers. The store manager assures us his firm is
"delighted to be of service to our boys in the armed forces." For the
prisoners, such trips are as exciting as they are rare.
