Wagon Wheels Turning at the Nebraska Prairie Museum

The wheels of progress have been turning for 150 years across the Nebraska Prairie and the plains of the United States. The wheels on this wagon, a parade float built by Becton-Dickenson for the Swedish Days Parade, are turning electrically with bicycle parts, motors, timers and switches scrounged up by our super volunteer, Mike Layton. The model covered wagon is part of our “Beginning of the human occupation of the Great Plains” display at the Nebraska Prairie Museum.
