Working Loom at Nebraska Prairie Museum

The shuttle was flying back and forth Thursday as Mary Olson and Alice Erickson made a rug from strips of cloth on the “new” working loom at the Nebraska Prairie Museum. Mary and Alice are members of the “Quilt Team” at the museum, cataloging and caring for hundreds of quilts that date as far back as the civil war.

A working weaving loom was just given to the museum so Mary and Alice decided to try it out, and it worked beautifully. They plan to demonstrate the loom during the antique harvest at the museum on October 21st.
